Vaccine Policy

Effective January 1, 2013, Brentwood Pediatrics will no longer accept or provide care for unvaccinated patients. The physicians of Brentwood Pediatrics follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP), the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) by encouraging our patients to vaccinate against diseases that can cause significant illness and even death.  The physicians of Brentwood Pediatrics are concerned about the safety and health of all of our patients.  Unvaccinated children are at higher risk for becoming infected with preventable diseases that can have very serious and devastating consequences.  In addition, unvaccinated children can spread disease to another child who may be too young to be vaccinated or whose medical condition prevents them from being vaccinated.

In addition, Brentwood Pediatrics does not encourage patients being vaccinated on an alternative vaccination schedule. Parents that choose to vaccinate their children on an alternative schedule must have vaccines completed within the recommended time ranges defined by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control.  Parents of unvaccinated patients who would like to start immunizations are encouraged to discuss catch-up immunizations for their child.

Brentwood Pediatrics strives to provide the best possible healthcare for our patients.  We encourage you to speak with your pediatrician here at Brentwood Pediatrics if you have any questions or concerns.  We look forward to continuing to provide excellent service to our patients and the community for many years to come.
